Maureen Zoltek
Maureen Zoltek (accompanist) is a long time Chicago resident and in high demand as a collaborator, coach, and orchestral pianist. Having just wrapped up her residency as full-time keyboardist with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, she has also performed with both the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, working under the illustrious batons of Pierre Boulez, Charles Dutoit, James Conlon, Gustavo Dudamel, James Gaffigan, Alan Gilbert, Larry Rachleff, Cliff Colnot and Oliver Knussen, among others. Maureen is also an active participant in chamber ensembles and contemporary music concerts, most recently performing in the 2009 Latino Music Festival and premiering a work by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's former composer-in-residence, Augusta Read Thomas. She has performed live on Chicago's classical music station, 98.7 WFMT, and spent this past summer at the Aspen Music Festival as a Vocal Collaborative Pianist.
Maureen graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelors degree in Piano Performance and in 2007 completed her Masters degree in both Piano Performance and Musicology. She will be continuing her studies at the Manhattan School of Music in the fall of 2010 to pursue her DMA in Vocal Accompanying. In 2004 she won the Union League Civic and Arts Foundation of Chicago Scholarship, and for the past several years she has accompanied and coached several voice studios at DePaul while also maintaining a private piano studio. Fans of the DePaul Community Chorus will remember Maureen’s outstanding debut performance as accompanist for “DCC on Stage!” in June of 2007. In the rare instance of having spare time, she enjoys studying French, reading dry British novels, and doting on her standard poodle, Shadow.
